It all started when…
We ran out of space in the bookstore.
Many local authors came to The Penny University, ready to celebrate their books. Boxes and Boxes of shiny new books…
The authors brought friends. They brought family. Some of them even brought Cake.
Then, they started to have to bring extra chairs. Then some wanted to spill out onto our tiny deck….
It was obvious that The Penny University Bookstore could no longer accommodate so many fantastic local authors. We wanted to expand, but we didn’t want to make a carbon copy of the bookstore.
So, ‘Tuppenny’ was born.
A Tuppenny bit.
Tuppenny comes from the old English Two-Pence coin. We sort-of have two ‘Penny’s now, so the name seemed to fit!
